Here’s one from the way back machine and was a funny story! There was another model who lived five hours away and she had decided to drive in to shoot with me. She reached out independently to Angelle, who was local, to see if she wanted to come with us and shoot together, and then told me about the plan. I assumed that the two ladies knew each other, but it turns out, they met for the first time that day on our shoot! We bonded immediately and were old friends by the time we walked back to the car. There’s something beautiful about choosing vulnerability and embracing the goodness of the nude body that turns acquaintances into instant friendships.

Standing there dripping wet — after setting aside a full day to shoot and planning this off and on for three years — I wanted to give up. Honestly, I was feeling a lot of negative emotions. I like to use this shoot as an example sometimes of how you can work through your own emotions as a photographer through art. The effects of the gloomy day were working on both of us, so we decided to use those powerful emotions as our theme. Can you feel it in the images?

Megan is probably one of the most amusing and entertaining models I have ever worked with on a shoot. You never know how long a beautiful nature area will last. There’s a hospital now where we did this shoot. This is the same place I photographed Mayye. Like the title of this post says, “Today is all you ever have.”

In their second shoot, Jason Lee and Megan pick up where they left off at the abandoned farm, following an old dirt road through the forest to a cliff above a river. Here, they discover a breathtaking vista of untouched nature, encountering remnants of nature reclaiming its territory along the way: towering trees adorned with moss, wildflowers peeking through the undergrowth, and the distant call of wildlife. As they reach the cliff’s edge, they find themselves amidst a tranquil haven ripe for artistic exploration and creative expression. Megan is someone I could photograph for years… twice wasn’t nearly enough! Alas, the fleeting opportunities of time and how they pass us by.

Being photographed nude is a really freeing experience. Christal truly stepped into herself when she removed her clothing. What looked like shyness at first turned into liberty and a poignant thoughtfulness.
